Exclusive: Watch Julianne Moore and Kristen Stewart in the First Clip From 'Still Alice'

Julianne Moore plays a brilliant linguistics professor who is stricken with early onset Alzheimer’s in Still Alice, which premiered to rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Already, there’s substantial Oscar buzz for both four-time nominee Moore and for Stewart, who plays her daughter. The film opens in January, but you can preview the performances everyone will be talking about in this exclusive first clip from the movie. The scene shows a casual, heartbreaking conversation between Alice (Moore) and her aspiring-actress daughter Lydia (Stewart), who asks her mother what Alzheimer’s feels like. “On my bad days, I feel like I can’t find myself,” says Alice. “I’ve always been so defined by my intellect, my language, my articulation, and now sometimes I can see the words hanging in front of me, and I can’t reach them, and I don’t know who I am, and I don’t know what I’m going to lose next.” Still Alice will open for a brief Oscar-qualifying run in December before hitting theaters on Jan. 16.
