“Access Hollywood” is putting Winter Olympic figure skating commentators Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski back to work at the Oscars, where the duo will give their thoughts on celebrity fashion, the syndicated entertainment news show announced on Tuesday.
The former Olympic figure skaters will join Billy Bush, Shaun Robinson and Liz Hernandez on the red carpet leading into the 86th annual Academy Awards, which are taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. Specifically, the duo will break down the biggest style hits and misses at the Oscars with “Access” red carpet fashion correspondent Louise Roe.
The gig continues NBC’s relationship with the athletes-turned-television personalities, who joined “Access” for several segments in Sochi when they weren’t covering skating events for the network.
They will begin appearing on the show begins on Wednesday when “Access” will follow their newest correspondents as they select their outfits for the big night.
“There is no time that LA shines brighter than during the Oscar’s and I hope to bring my own special brand of sparkle to the broadcast,” Weir said. “I am so privileged to work with my great friend, Tara Lipinski, and together we hope to entertain America’s pants off.”
“Johnny and I had such an incredible time working with ‘Access Hollywood’ in Sochi and we are excited to keep the fun rolling,” Lipinski added.
