John Zois Departs EuropaCorp for IM Global Acquisitions Role

EuropaCorp’s Director of Worldwide Acquisitions John Zois has left his post for a Senior Vice President of Acquisitions title at Stuart Ford‘s IM Global.

Zois will report to Ford and work alongside acquisitions director JR Smith at the major indie film presence.

“I am thrilled to join Stuart and the great team at IM Global, which has been a leader in its field since its inception almost a decade ago,” said Zois, who joined EuropaCorp in 2014 where he oversaw acquisitions like the forthcoming Tom Hanks tech thriller “The Circle.”

“John is a savvy, well respected figure on the acquisitions circuit and going forward I’m sure he will play a significant role in helping us board the strongest independent projects from around the globe as either a financier, distributor or sales agent,” Ford added.

Prior to EurpaCorp, Zois worked in sales and acquisitions at FilmNation on projects like “Room,” “A Most Violent Year” and Joseph Gordon Levitt’s “Looper.” The NYU Alum started his career at AMC Entertainment with a stint at the Gersh Agency.

IM Global has a hand in upcoming releases like Martin Scorsese‘s “Silence,” starring Andrew Garfield and Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson‘s “Hacksaw Ridge” also starring Garfield, and “Collide,” a Relativity Media project acquired by Open Road starring Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Sir Ben Kingsley.
