'John Wick' Trailer: Nobody Messes With Keanu's Dog

If you ignore, for a moment, that the fact that the cheeky dialogue for the new Keanu Reeves thriller John Wick sounds like it came from a clichéd country-music song, there’s reason to get excited about this thriller, from stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski.
This first trailer for Wick is full of tricks: At first, it seems Keanu is just your average cool car-driving, dog-conversing Jersey guy. But after a bunch of baddies show up, kill his pup and steal his ride, Reeves goes all Jason Statham on us and John Wick turns into an over-the-top shoot-’em-up. For sad Keanu fans — who’ve watched the star slump in a bit in recent disappointments like Ronin 47 and The Day the Earth Stood Still — such mayhem is a good sign that Wick will incite more Woahs than woe.
