John Boyega Had A LOT of Fun on the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Set

J.J. Abrams likes to keep his movies a mystery to the general public. But if you’re lucky enough to be one of his employees, strap in for a good time. The cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens tells Yahoo Movies that they were constantly entertained while shooting the next chapter in the enduring sci-fi franchise created by George Lucas. And it’s not just because they got to play with lightsabers and fly X-Wings. According to John Boyega, who plays troubled Stormtrooper Finn, Abrams turned the set into a kind of summer camp.

“We have loads of fun,” the British actor says, revealing that for Halloween, Abrams set up a station where people could carve TIE Fighters out of pumpkins. Boyega also participated in a behind-the-scenes documentary entitled “Who Can Scare Carrie Fisher?” that we want to see, like, now. “He’s a guy that lives to have fun on set,” Boyega says, laughing. Here’s hoping they still had time to battle the Dark Side.
