Jimmy Kimmel and Chelsea Handler both mocked Sean Spicer for his insensitive comments about Hitler and the Holocaust on Tuesday.
On last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host talked about Spicer's incorrect claim that Hitler didn't use chemical weapons during World War II, which Spicer has since apologized for, and joked, "If you listen very closely, you can almost hear the voice inside his head."
Kimmel then played Spicer's press conference quotes, imagining what Spicer was thinking.
'Oh no, did I just defend Hitler?" Kimmel's Spicer is heard thinking. "Hitler? I think I did. Why did I even do that? Why even bring up the Holocaust? At press secretary school, the one rule was, 'Never defend Hitler.'"
After Spicer tried to clarify, again incorrectly, that Hitler didn't "gas his own people," Kimmel had him insulting himself internally.
"Of course Hitler gassed people! I learned that in high school, we all did," Spicer's fake internal voice continued. "What the hell are you doing, Sean, you stupid, stupid, stoop! I just want to go to Cabo."
"Sean Spicer might be the only press secretary who needs a press secretary," laughed Kimmel.
Over on TBS' Conan, guest Chelsea Handler talked about Spicer. "He's so stupid. He can't possibly be that stupid naturally," she said.
She said she suspects Trump whispers in Spicer's ear before he attends press conference, saying things like, "Say something about Hitler and, yeah, the Holocaust. Say something about that."
Host Conan O'Brien pointed out that Spicer has apologized for his insensitive remarks.
"Whatever, that means nothing at this point," responded Handler. "I don't understand how you can keep that job and go out there and do that. Does he think this is going to end well for him?"
She said she wishes she was in the press room so she could ask Spicer, "How do you feel about working for a man who says one thing on Wednesday and another thing on Friday?"
