Jennifer Lopez on Shooting that ‘Weird’ But Cheer-Worthy Sex Scene in ‘Boy Next Door’

Here’s a first: At an advance screening of Jennifer Lopez’s new thriller The Boy Next Door, there was a smattering of applause after the actress’s steamy sex scene opposite younger co-star Ryan Guzman. Yes, it got the type of reaction audiences usually reserve for Iron Man or James Bond’s climactic discarding of a diabolical villain.

"It’s weird, so weird," the Lopez, 45, told Yahoo Movies, laughing when asked if the scene — which involved Guzman’s 19-year-old neighbor-turned-stalker intensely seducing her recently separated mother — was nerve-racking to shoot. "It’s uncomfortable and strange, but we were both mentally prepared (for) that actual scene. I’m actually glad that it got applause because it means [that] not only that it was steamy and sexy, but it was also believable.” And, as Lopez points out, it’s a crucial moment for the filmmakers, as well: “If you don’t believe that scene really left an imprint on him [and] drives him crazy … [then] the movie doesn’t work." And crazy Guzman’s character does indeed go.
