Jay Pharoah on Obama: "He's Ready to Leave"

The Hollywood Reporter

NBC's Saturday Night Live is where Jay Pharoah made a mark with his long-running impression of out-going President Obama. (He also turned in hilarious takes on Drake, Jay Z and Denzel Washington, among others). The actor, who has segued to a starring role on Showtime's White Famous, says it's clear now that Obama is ready for everyone to move on.

"He's ready to leave," Pharoah told THR with a laugh at a recent event in Los Angeles. "We're all like, 'Hey, if you could do a third, we would definitely pencil you in right now.' But he's ready to play golf. Just look at him - he's full gray now. He was jet black when he came in, but now he's Sisqo."

On a serious note, Pharoah applauds Obama's public service as he transitions to a new chapter: "He's done so much and is such a humanitarian."
