'Jason Bourne' Exclusive: Matt Damon Enjoys Some Motorcycle Mayhem in Behind-the-Scenes Clip
After a brief detour into spin-off territory , the Bourne franchise returned in 2016 with its original lead Matt Damon in the blockbuster Jason Bourne. Those who weren’t able to catch up with the amnesiac spy’s latest escapades will get a second chance when the film hits digital HD on Nov. 15 and Blu-ray and DVD formats on Dec. 6. Ahead of that eagerly anticipated release, we’ve got an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the Paul Greengrass-directed blockbuster.
In the above video, we get a first-hand look at the effort that went into staging Jason Bourne’s frenzied motorcycle chase through Athens — a sequence that involved Damon doing as much as the production’s insurance policy would allow, but whose heavy-duty feats were handled by professional stunt riders. Given the craziness on display in this brief vignette — including bikes zooming up enormous outdoor staircases and smashing into car doors — that’s little surprise. Nonetheless, Damon brings his usual rugged toughness to the role of Bourne, who in the film goes in search of information about his father, only to discover (surprise!), yet another case of covert government villainy.
In addition to the motorcycle chase, the Blu-ray and DVD sets will also feature a conversation between Damon and Greengrass about returning to the series and behind-the-scenes looks at some of the movie’s more brutal fight scenes and that demolition derby chase through Las Vegas.
