J.J. Abrams Kisses Chewbacca for Twizzler Challenge
J.J. Abrams is so dedicated to autism awareness that he’s willing to face Wookiee breath. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens director joined his shaggy star Chewbacca for the Twizzler Challenge in a video broadcast on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch it above!
If you’re not familiar, the Twizzler Challenge for Autism functions like a more affectionate Ice Bucket Challenge: Two people chew opposite ends of a Twizzler, meet in the middle, then challenge another couple to do the same. (The germophobic have the option of donating to New York Collaborates for Autism instead.) Among those who have taken the challenge so far are Amanda Seyfriend and Justin Long; Lena Dunham and Allison Williams; Hoda Kotb and Flo Rida; and Jimmy Kimmel and Rihanna (see above).
Obviously, Chewbacca and Abrams’s video is one to beat, since it truly captures the challenge’s Lady and the Tramp inspiration. As a bonus, fans also get a good, long look at Chewie — who, unlike his partner-in-crime Han Solo, doesn’t seem to have aged a day since Return of the Jedi.
