An innocent visit to a Thailand ATM sparks a new meme

A simple photo of a man innocently visiting an ATM in Thailand with two women who we can only assume are his good friends, has sparked an odd trend on Reddit. 

The photo, which was submitted to r/pics on Thursday was normal enough. This man just needed some cash. We don't know why.

But then someone shared a photo of a man withdrawing money from an ATM in Detroit, with a creepy-looking companion watching him.

For contrast, someone posted this photo of a man casually doing his banking at an ATM in Pennsylvania.
