New 'Jurassic World' Clip: Indominus Rex Wants a Chris Pratt Snack

Good thing Chris Pratt is fast. The latest Jurassic World clip (watch above) drops viewers into the middle of a heated chase, as genetically modified mega-dinosaur Indominus Rex tears through the jungle. Raptor trainer Owen Grady (Pratt) barely escapes with his life; the other guy, sadly, is destined to become a dino appetizer. Meanwhile, park operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) seems helpless to lock down the runaway reptile, and the folks in the control room (including Orange is the New Black’s Lauren Lapkus) aren’t much help either. In the end, Grady manages to buy some time by hiding under a Jeep, once again reinforcing the importance of Jeeps in the Jurassic universe.

The real star of this clip, though, is the dinosaur. Indominus Rex is being revealed to us in bits and pieces: Her snout appeared on a poster last week, and trailers have offered split-second glimpses of the villainous creature’s gaping jaws, spiny back, and snake-like eyes. The new clip shows the Indominus in full hunting mode, with shots of her enormous clawed hands – which have an almost human quality to them, including opposable thumbs. Eat your heart out, T-Rex. Jurassic World opens June 12.
