Watch an Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at that Crazy 'Kingsman' Church-Fight Scene

If you caught this year’s surprise hit Kingsman: The Secret Service, you saw one of the ballsiest big-screen brawls in memory: A blood-soaked, body-tossing fight scene in which the nattily attired super-spy Harry Hart (played by Colin Firth) enters a church and single-handedly annihilates a gazillion angry worshippers.

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, which you can watch above, we get an extensive look at the making of the now-infamous church showdown. It’s a sequence that required a week of practice, about 20 stunt performers, and nearly 100 extras. And for Oscar-winner Firth — who’s more accustomed to buttoned-down roles in films like The King’s Speech — filming the frantic, almost balletic scene proved to be physically therapeutic. “Nothing I learned in all this combat and slaying of people would probably help me if I got in a real situation,“ Firth says in the video. “But it certainly might help me if I wanted to enter an expressionist dance troupe.”

Kingsman: The Secret Service is out now on digital HD and available on Blu-ray and DVD June 9.
