Hot Trailer: ‘In Saturn’s Rings’

On the ninth anniversary of the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft entering Saturn’s orbit, the first trailer is out for In Saturn’s Rings. Writer-director Stephen Van Vuuren spent more than half a decade developing “a way to fly through real photos from outer space,” and his giant-screen film combines more than 1M pictures from 25-plus space missions. There’s no CGI or VFX, no dialogue or narration — just wild shots of Earth and other planets, open space, stars, satellites, even the space shuttle. Big & Digital brings the film dedicated to the “memory of Carl Sagan and Stanley Kubrick” to IMAX screens next year:
