Bet You Didn't Know
Ben Kingsley plays Georges Melies, the French magician who became one of the first film directors in the 1890s. Melies used innovative camera and editing tricks to create some of the first special effects, most notably in the groundbreaking "A Voyage to the Moon." Melies was awarded the Légion d'honneur from France for his contribution to the art of filmmaking, and seven decades later Martin Scorsese received the same commendation.
