Netflix is keeping Grace and Frankie around for another year, and the show will feature a fun Friends reunion.
The streaming giant has handed out a fourth-season renewal for the comedy series starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, the Marta Kauffman-created show has added Emmy winner Lisa Kudrow (Friends).
The renewal comes less than three weeks after the premiere of the third season of the comedy about two friends whose husbands leave them for each other. Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston co-star in the series produced by Skydance Television.
Kudrow will have a recurring guest role as Sheree, Grace's (Fonda) longtime manicurist whose newfound friendship with Grace irks Frankie (Tomlin) and threatens to drive a wedge between the two. Season four will premiere in 2018.
The Netflix comedy marks a key Friends reunion for creator Kauffman and Kudrow, who have not worked together since the NBC comedy wrapped. (Kudrow appeared on two episodes of Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but neither was the episode that Kauffman wrote.) Kudrow's recent TV credits include ABC's Scandal and Showtime's Web Therapy. She is repped by CAA and Gochman Law.
For Netflix, Grace and Frankie is part of a comedy lineup that includes Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Master of None, The Ranch, Lady Dynamite, Love, One Day at a Time and the upcoming Girlboss, among others.
