George Ortiz, a New York hairstylist who appeared on Project Runway, was found dead Tuesday in his Manhattan apartment. He was 45.

Police told the NY Daily News that Ortiz’s death had been ruled a suicide.

Ortiz appeared on the Bravo reality show as a lead stylist from 2006-10. In a 2010 Salon Guy documentary, Ortiz said hair was his passion. “I’ve been very blessed and very lucky that things happened so quickly for me … once I discovered my passion for hair,” he said.
