Logo's 'Gay Skit Happens' Pays Hilarious Homage to Viola Davis

It’s been three months since fans of How to Get Away with Murder have seen Viola Davis in action — other than watching the Emmy winner earn a Golden Globe nomination and a SAG Award, that is. The wait is almost over: HTGAWM returns a week from today. But here’s something fun to tide you over.

In this exclusive clip from Logo’s new quarterly half-hour sketch series Gay Skit Happen (premiering Feb. 8), Viola Davis (as played by actress Lyric Lewis) delivers another powerful and dramatic performance… when she calls her cell phone provider. We won’t spoil it for you, but just wait until a customer service rep interrupts the monologue she’s been delivering to the automated agent.

Gay Skit Happens, directed by Rusty Cundieff (Chapelle’s Show, Human Giant) and executive produced by Tom Gianis (Saturday Night Live, Drunk History), also stars Brian Jordan Alvarez, Tara DiFrancisco, Julie Goldman, Stephen Guarino, Ken Kirby, Courtney Pauroso, and Bill Posley. The Valentine’s Day-themed premiere features guest host Daniel Franzese (Looking, Mean Girls) and a guest appearance by SUPERFRUIT, who also teamed with Greg O’Connor (MADtv) on the show’s theme song.

Vivica A. Fox is set to host a summer edition.

Gay Skit Happens premieres Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. on Logo. How to Get Away With Murder returns Feb. 11 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
