Further Proof Tom Cruise Is Obsessed With His Stunts (Exclusive)
OK, OK. We’ve already written about this crazy-spectacular Tom Cruise stunt in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. But that’s before we knew he dangled from a midair plane — not once — but eight times!
Given the extreme danger and fright-inducing nature of the physical feat, everyone involved assumed T.C. would do the stunt in one take and be done with it, as shown in this exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the movie (above). But no. That’s not how Cruise rolls. “Every time they were, like, ‘Let’s stop it.’ But I wanted to make sure we had that shot,” said Cruise with a grin. Visual-effects supervisor David Vickery confirms the insane number of times the 53-year-old star did the stunt, adding, “It seems like he enjoyed it.”
Just look at co-star Simon Pegg’s face as Cruise breaks from his stunt — Pegg is floored by what he’s just witnessed, also hugging Cruise, presumably out of relief the actor is still alive.
