Funny Or Die Produces Donald Trump Videos for Democratic Convention

Funny or Die is producing a series of comedy videos that will be shown on Monday night and throughout the week at the Democratic National Convention, starting with a riff on Donald Trump’s history of outsourcing.

Austan Goolsbee, the former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, and comedian Ken Jeong star in the first video. It’s called “Donald Decoded: Outsourcing.”

In the video, they run through a list of Trump-branded items, from Trump neckties to Trump vodka, identifying the foreign countries they’re manufactured in.

“The idea behind the videos is you are always trying to get information out as part of a campaign, and comedy can be a way to do that,” said David Litt, a former speechwriter for President Obama who is now head writer and producer of Funny or Die’s D.C. operations.

“We are working with the convention to say, ‘What information do they want to highlight?’ And we are working with some top comedians to come up with funny ways to try to to make that a little bit more interesting and something you may want to share rather than something you may gloss over,” Litt added.
