Francesca Eastwood Is a Good Girl Gone Bad in Western 'Outlaws and Angels' (Exclusive Clip)

The Western is officially an Eastwood family business. In January, the same month her brother Scott Eastwood opened the Civil War thriller Diablo, Francesa Eastwood premiered the bloody gun-slinging drama Outlaws and Angels at the Sundance Film Festival.

Their father, of course, is legendary actor-director Clint Eastwood, who has made a handful of the best Westerns of all time, including The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966), A Fistful of Dollars (1964), and Unforgiven (1992).

In Outlaws and Angels (watch an exclusive clip above), Francesca (TV’s Heroes Reborn) plays Florence Tildon, a young woman whose family’s frontier home is invaded by a band of robbers (including Henry, played by Chad Michael Murray). The clan isn’t as innocent as it seems, though; and after falling for Henry, Florence gets in cahoots with the gang as their very own Calamity Jane.

Scott and Francesca aren’t Clint’s first kids to dabble in one of their dad’s favorite genres. The elder Eastwood, who has long cast his brood in bit parts in his movies, enlisted son Kyle Eastwood to play Josie’s offspring in an uncredited role in The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). Clint also featured both Kyle and daughter Allison Eastwood in the 1980 film Bronco Billy. And it wasn’t a Western, but Francesa got her acting start with a small role in the 1999 whodunit True Crime. More recently, she played Waitress No. 1 in Clint’s 2014 musical adaptation, Jersey Boys.

Written and directed by JT Mollner, Outlaws and Angels also stars Luke Wilson, Teri Polo, and Francesca’s mother, Frances Fisher. The film will be in theaters and on video-on-demand July 15. Watch the trailer:
