Foreigner Needs to Record an 'Urgent' Parody of 'Insurgent' Before We All Go Crazy

This week marks the release of Divergent, the second film in the Insurgent series. And the ad campaign that has blanketed TV, billboard, subway and pop-up ads has been a big problem for me. Because whenever I hear the title or just read it, my brain instantly calls up Foreigner’s insanely hooky 1981 hit “Urgent.” And then that song continues to play in my head for the next three hours, except subbing “Insurgent” for “Urgent.”

This is driving me crazy, and it has to stop.

But first: You’re familiar with the song, right? If not, take a listen below, and try to not hear Insurgent-urgent-urgent every time Lou Gramm gets to the chorus:

Well, now it will happen to you, too. (Sorry!) And there is only one way this can stop: If Foreigner steps into the studio and re-records “Urgent” as “Insurgent.” Not only will it unleash my sub-Yankovic satire into the wild, but it will provide me with an actual digital version of “(Ins)Urgent” — one that I can actually turn off, allowing me to soothe my Foreigner-flustered mind.

Please help me make this happen by signing the petition over at Change.org. I’d try to pay the band members to do this myself, of course, but I can’t really afford to be too splurg-ent-ent right now.
