First Music Video From 'Suicide Squad' Features New Film Footage

Suicide Squad’s initial trailers have made a splash thanks in part to their canny use of music like Queen’s anthemic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” among other classic tunes. So it’s no surprise that the film’s soundtrack — the track listing was recently released by Atlantic Records — is a highly anticipated affair in its own right. And now, with the debut of its first tie-in music video, fans are also getting a peek at some additional new footage from the film itself. (Watch it above.)

Twenty One Pilots has just debuted their new clip for “Heathens,” and the video is set at the Belle Reve maximum security prison where the squad — Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and the rest of their evil comrades — are being held before they’re recruited by Viola Davis’s government bigwig Amanda Waller to pull off a do-or-die mission. While most of the movie material is made up of expanded moments from the prior trailers, there are a few novel sights to be found throughout, including new glimpses of Harley Quinn and Deadshot.

While Twenty One Pilots’ video is the first from Suicide Squad, it’s apparently not going to be the last, as reports indicate that Skrillex and Rick Ross have already filmed a clip for their soundtrack contribution, “Purple Lamborghini,” with Jared Leto as the Joker — a fitting collaboration, given that Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime drives a similar model of sports car.

Until that upcoming video arrives, however, check out Twenty One Pilots’ addition to the pre-release Suicide Squad hype. The movie storms theaters on Aug. 5.
