First Look at Ben Affleck’s Batcave Reveals a Streamlined, Tasteful Decor

Traditionally, every new big screen Batman has been outfitted with a new Batmobile, and in turn, every new Batmobile has been parked in a sweet new gadget-filled garage. The latest Dark Knight, Ben Affleck, is no exception, and this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly offers up a first look at the new Bruce Wayne’s updated Batcave from the 2016 movie Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

As you can see from the photos in the tweets above and below, the new Batcave is a very modern hideaway, with a sleek, simple design that’s decked out with lots of high-tech video screens (where, presumably, Batman is monitoring Gotham City, not binge-watching Netflix). It’s a lot better lit and more comfortable looking than the dank, more literal-minded Batcaves from Tim Burton’s original films, that’s for sure.

Bruce Wayne won’t be the only person spending a lot of time in the cushy cave; as Jeremy Irons tells EW, his new version of loyal super-butler Alfred will be a frequent visitor as well.

“Alfred is a lot more hands on in our film than he has previously been,” he says. “He’s a bit of a grease monkey, and he’s very involved in the decisions Bruce makes.”

Whether that includes tasteful interior decorating decisions remains unclear.
