Chris Pratt Is a Dinosaur Whisperer in the First 'Jurassic World' Clip

The first clip from Jurassic World, the new entry in the dinosaur saga, debuted on MTV Wednesday night. And despite its relatively short run time and lack of dino-action, we learned a few key points about the Colin Trevorrow-directed sequel:

1. If Indiana Jones and Jane Goodall had a son, he would probably be a lot like Chris Pratt’s character, Owen Grady, in Jurassic World.

2. And if Anna Wintour could loan her style sense to Katherine Heigl’s humorless TV reporter in Knocked Up, you’d get Claire Dearing, the uptight, by-the-book character played by Bryce Dallas Howard.

3. Claire runs the gigantic zoo/theme park, but doesn’t seem to have a lot of compassion for the dinosaurs she’s responsible for.

4. Owen, on the other hand, is a dinosaur whisperer who has an intuitive sense for how the prehistoric monsters feel.

5. Owen and Claire went on a date once, and it didn’t go well: Apparently, she over-planned and he under-dressed.

Will the two be able to put aside their differences once the movie’s big bad starts rampaging? We’ll find out when Jurassic World hits theaters on June 12.
