Exclusive ‘Life After Beth’ Clip Proves Zombie Love Ain’t Easy

Young love can be complicated — especially if you happen to have fallen for a zombie. But as our exclusive Life After Beth clip shows, undead love can also be quite funny.

Starring Aubrey Plaza, Dane DeHaan, Anna Kendrick, John C. Reilly, and Molly Shannon, Life After Beth is the new dark comedy from writer/director Jeff Baena, who also co-wrote I Heart Huckabees with David O. Russell.  DeHaan plays Zach, a young man devastated by the early passing of his girlfriend, Beth, played by Plaza. But miraculously, that’s not the end of their story.

As Beana tells us via email, the above clip is the moment in which Zach sees a future for he and his undead love — albeit a complicated one, at that. “Zach breaks into Beth’s family home and discovers she’s inexplicably alive. His cognitive dissonance, coupled with her naïveté and her parents’ plausible deniability, creates a tense standoff that spirals out of control.”

Life After Beth premieres exclusively on DirecTV today, July 17th, and will open in theaters August 15th.
