Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Get More Than Asking in Hollywood Hills

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $3,505,000
SIZE: 3,483 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Though they’ve slashed the asking price of their scenic getaway in the affluent California community of Ojai by a full million bucks — it’s now listed at $3.25 million, down from its original $4.25 million price tag — and still not managed to unload it after nearly a year on the market, married actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski had far better luck in Los Angeles where they sold their unassuming but luxuriously appointed home high in the Hollywood Hills in less than two months for $3.505 million, a small but notable bit above its $3.495 million asking price.

The multi-national couple — she’s English, he’s American — acquired the walled and gated single-story home on an itty-bitty cul-de-sac in April 2014 for $2.575 million and listing details show the 3,483-square-foot residence has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms including an ample master suite with sitting area, more than one walk-in closet and a natural stone tiled bathroom with steam shower. A courtyard entry leads to airy, open-concept interior spaces that include a sky-lit entrance gallery, a spacious eat-in kitchen with matte black counter tops and snow-white cabinetry, and a step-down living room with vaulted and beamed ceiling. There’s also an office/library with built-in bookshelves and storage as well as a separate and roomy den/media lounge with corner fireplace has direct access to a desirably flat and hedge-ringed backyard with extensive flag stone terracing, a covered outdoor living room with open canyon, mountain and city views, a swimming pool and spa, a rose garden, and a thick carpet of emerald-green grass.

The couple, she’s up on the silver screen in the psychological thriller “The Girl on the Train” and he will portray the titular role on Amazon’s boob-toob series “Jack Ryan,” officially decamped Tinseltown for Brooklyn where late last year they forked over $6 million for an elaborately embellished turn-of-the-century townhouse in the leafy and historic Park Slope neighborhood. The Krasinski-Blunts, who have made many changes to their property portfolio over the last year, previosuly owned a boxy, triple-story contemporary above the Sunset Strip they acquired in February 2009 for $1,857,000, expensively overhauled, first put up for sale in early 2016 at $8 million and, after the price plummeted to $6.95 million, sold in June (2016) for $6.5 million to 20-year-old reality television veteran turned ubiquitous fashion model Kendall Jenner.
