It's official: Eddie Egan has been named president of domestic marketing for STX's film studio. He has served as interim marketing chief since last fall when Jack Pan exited.
STX also announced Wednesday that longtime Universal publicity executive Alissa Grayson is joining STX as co-president of domestic marketing.
Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms, worked with both Egan and Grayson when running Universal.
Egan previously served as president of domestic marketing at Universal and was most recently head of marketing for Illumination Entertainment.
Grayson will report to Egan, and the two will co-run STXfilms' marketing division and oversee the staff that includes creative advertising, research, digital marketing, public relations, promotions, events and media and innovation.
"Alissa is widely recognized and admired as a brilliant film strategist who has been elevating the marketing of movies while executing imaginative and creative PR campaigns for some of the biggest blockbusters and sleeper hits in recent memory," Fogelson said in a statement. "STX has at its core a commitment to attracting and cultivating the best talent; adding Alissa to our gifted team raises the bar that much more."
He added, "Eddie is one of the most accomplished and respected film marketing leaders working in our industry today. He is a genuine lover of film and I could not think of a more impressive partnership than uniting Alissa once again with Eddie. These two are an undeniable force; STX's filmmakers could not be in more trusted or capable hands."
