E! is ready to get back in the ring.
The NBCUniversal cabler has renewed the WWE docuseries Total Bellas for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
A spinoff of the channel's Total Divas, Total Bellas centers on WWE superstars Nikki and Brie Bella and their respective beaus, John Cena and Daniel Bryan.
The eight-episode second season will see Nikki and John head to Phoenix to help Brie and Daniel through their first pregnancy (in addition to Daniel's new role as general manager of Smackdown Live!). Season two will bow sometime in 2017.
The pickup comes a week after the first-season finale, which delivered a series high of nearly 1 million total viewers. The news also comes hours ahead of the Bella sisters' return to Total Divas for Wednesday's season-six premiere.
"We are excited to build on the success of the first season of Total Bellas by inviting viewers back for a second round of family fun with the Bellas and their fellas," Jeff Olde, E!'s executive vp, programming and development, said. "Nikki, Brie, John and Daniel all exude copious amounts of wit, talent and strength, but it's their openness to be completely real that has resonated with viewers and we are delighted to share an intimate look at two of WWE's most prominent couples."
Like the flagship series, Total Bellas is produced by WWE and Bunim/Murray Productions. The Bella sisters serve as exec producers along with Gil Goldschein; Jeff Jenkins and Russell Jay exec produce for Bunim/Murray Productions, and Kevin Dunn for WWE.
E! has found success with docuseries spinoffs like Total Bellas before. It also has WAGS and WAGS Miami, Botched and Botched by Nature and the many incarnations of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Next month, E! will launch Mariah Carey's highly anticipated reality show, Mariah's World.
