Ryan Gosling plays a Hollywood stunt driver drawn into a world of crime

Drive, the 2011 noir-ish crime thriller starring Ryan Gosling, wouldn’t be the same movie without its evocative synth-pop score. But what if director Nicholas Winding Refn had worked with an entirely different roster of musical artists? That’s the question posed by an ambitious new BBC experiment, titled Radio 1 Rescores: Drive - Curated by Zane Lowe. Lowe, a London-based radio DJ, has curated a brand new soundtrack for Drive.

Among the artists who contributed new songs are Foals, the 1975, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Eric Prydz, Jon Hopkins, and Chvrches, whose song “Get Away” you can listen to here. The project culminates in a broadcast of Drive on BBC Three, during which viewers can toggle between Lowe’s soundtrack and the original (scored by Cliff Martinez). That one-time event will air on October 30th – with Refn’s blessing, of course. Watch the trailer below.
