A few hours following his surprising win in the U.S. presidential election, Donald Trump has sent his first missive via Twitter. “Such a beautiful and important evening!,” wrote the president-elect at 6:36 AM New York time. “The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before.” He also changed his status to “President-elect of the United States.”

The notorious tweeter’s comments are his first on the social media site since Tuesday evening when he wrote that he was watching the returns from 9:45 PM in New York. They also echo the victory speech the former reality TV star made when he turned gracious and conciliatory, saying, “Now is the time for Americans to bind the wounds of division.” The 45th POTUS-elect vowed in the speech “to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans.”
