Disney Shows Off Sweet Marvel Action in 'Big Hero 6' Sizzle Reel

As you can see in the sizzle reel above, Big Hero 6 is about to revolutionize Disney animation.

The fabled studio of princesses and talking animals is now getting an infusion of Marvel action five years after Disney bought the comics publisher, leading off with an adaptation — and re-imagining — of an obscure graphic novel that straddles the line between American art and Japanese manga.

Disney showed off some new footage from the film, which was directed by Winnie the Pooh vets Don Hall and Chris Williams, at New York Comic-Con on Thursday afternoon. Voice stars T.J. Miller, Genesis Rodriguez and Jamie Chung joined in on the panel, where they discussed their collective love of robots.

Which makes sense, because Big Hero 6 is focused on a young tech wiz named Hiro who teams up with his cuddly, Michelin Man-style health bot named Baymax and several wannabe heroes to defend the mash-up city of San Fransokyo from evil. The teaser above focuses on the action — obviously, since it was unveiled at Comic-Con.

With sweet sequences that include Iron Man-like flying over the Bay and wild car chases, this could be the most action-packed Disney animated film ever. Yes, even more than The Aristocats.

Big Hero 6 hits the big screen on Nov. 7.
