'Dirty Grandpa' Trailer: Zac Efron and Robert De Niro Cut Loose, Smoke a Little Crack
The first trailer for the Robert De Niro-Zac Efron spring-break comedy Dirty Grandpa is here (above), and it definitely sets today’s record for things we never expected to see, in a movie or otherwise. For one, Robert De Niro and Zac Efron in a spring-break comedy together. Secondly, De Niro and Aubrey Plaza in a sex scene together. And thirdly, a shirtless Efron gleefully yelling, “I just smoked crack!”
Hot on the heels of the similarly titled but completely unrelated Jackass spinoff Bad Grandpa, the new raunchy comedy is written by John Phillips and directed by longtime Sacha Baron Cohen collaborator Don Mazer, who earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing Borat. In Dirty Grandpa, Efron plays Jason, an uptight dude about to get hitched. After the the death of his grandma, he accompanies his grandfather Dick down to Florida, where the two get caught up in spring-break shenanigans. Hey, everyone mourns in their own way.
Suggestive sunblock squirting, a couple references to getting Plaza pregnant, and said crack-smoking ensue.
