New Details On The Walking Dead Theme Park Ride Revealed

New details about The Walking Dead thrill ride, which was originally announced in November, are beginning to surface.

“The Walking Dead – Battle for Survival” dark ride concept includes a unique combination of technology and artistry to take riders deep into the world of The Walking Dead. Riders will battle Walkers in a post-apocalyptic landscape where the living dead are a reality and extinction of the human race is just around the next corner. Photo-realistic 3D media on massive projection screens will blend seamlessly with fully realized practical sets, scenery and animatronics in this unique attraction.

This brand new concept is available exclusively from Jacksonville, Florida-based Sally Corporation, which previously created scores of unique, award winning dark ride experiences for guests all around the world over the past 38 years.

The dark ride features interactivity (shooting at targets for points), multi-DOF (motion-based) ride vehicles, media-based scenes (large CG projection screens in 3D), highly immersive theming (ultra-realistic sets, scenery and animation mixed with the projection screens) and 4D special effects (real fire, wind, fog, etc.) that put guests right into a post-apocalyptic landscape, making them feel as though the living dead is a reality and extinction of the human race is just around the next corner.

The Walking Dead returns from its midseason hiatus this Sunday at 9 PM ET on AMC.
