Daniel Craig's Role in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Might Have Finally Been Revealed

(Note: This is not actually Daniel Craig in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’)

Daniel Craig is apparently donning the iconic white armor and helmet of the Star Wars storm trooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In a rather brilliantly indiscrete moment, the news was revealed by none other than Simon Pegg, a friend of Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, and a renowned Star Wars geek.

Pegg was trotting the red carpet for his new movie Man Up in London Thursday night when he dropped the “007 Is In Star Wars” bombshell.

Asked about his rumoured cameo in the movie, he told The Sun: “I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”

Realizing his mistake, he then added: “I shouldn’t have said that.”

It's possible, of course, that Pegg was just fooling around. But Craig’s small role in the movie had been rumored since last year, with an insider close to the Bond actor saying: “Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters.

“Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.”

It’s probably now safe to presume that it’s a famous person under each of the storm trooper helmets.

Rumours that Sean Connery is playing Max Rebo remain unsubstantiated…..

We will find out – or actually, probably not find out – when the movie hits cinemas on December 18.
