No couch potatoes allowed. ABC is jumping on the virtual reality bandwagon. For the first time, viewers can join the pro dancers and troupe members on the ballroom floor in VR on Dancing With The Stars.

Produced in-house by ABC and Dancing With The Stars, the 360-degree video clip (see above) is available on ABC.com/VR, the Dancing with the Stars’ Facebook and YouTube pages, and via Littlstar’s app for headsets, mobile, Apple TV and the web.

The opening number, set to Donna Summer’s “Last Dance,” is choreographed by Dancing with the Stars Mandy Moore and features pro dancers Lindsay Arnold, Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess,Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Sasha Farber, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Karina Smirnoff; and troupe members Alan Bersten, Hayley Erbert, Shannon Holtzapffel, Dennis Jauch, Jenna Johnson and Kiril Kulish.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this brand-new experience to the fans of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Fans at home will literally feel as though they are right in the middle of the ballroom floor. And it is definitely worth watching multiple times in order to take in all the brilliant choreography Mandy Moore has put together,” shared Dan Martin, co executive producer, “Dancing with the Stars.”

“We have been building an in-house expertise in this area and wanted our first project to be a visual feast, which it is. It truly captures all the excitement, glamour and talent that is “Dancing with the Stars,” added Robert Schefferine, VP of production, ABC Entertainment Marketing.

Dancing with the Stars is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Rob Wade and Ashley Edens-Shaffer are executive producers. Alex Rudzinski directs.
