Daisy Ridley Shares How 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Begins

Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended with Rey climbing the Jedi steps to meet Luke Skywalker. And now we know where Episode VIII will begin: where the last one ended — Luke’s big green rock that in real life is an island in Ireland. Daisy Ridley told MTV, “When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people.”

We also know that Luke is going to be more prominent. Ridley said, “It’s such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really.”

So, what else do we know? We know that Rian Johnson’s writing and directing and that they started filming in February. Almost everything else is speculation, the most recent involving J.J. Abrams’s comments about the franchise including a gay character.
