Colin Firth Layeth the Smackdown in New 'Kingsmen: The Secret Service' Trailer

Colin Firth has played his share of prim and proper British gentlemen over the years: Mark Darcy, Jack Worthing, King George VI. None of these fellows would exactly put the fear of God into a ne’er-do-well looking to start a scrum. On the surface, Harry Hart, his character in next year’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, would make good company for the aforementioned chaps.

And then we see him put a bloody arse-whipping on a bunch hooligans in a London pub. (Note to movie punks: Once that seemingly benign older gentleman locks the door from the inside, you’re in trouble; see also this week’s The Equalizer.) He’s got all kinds of gadgets, too, including an umbrella (it is England) that deflects bullets.

Firth headlines the buzzed-about film as a veteran agent who recruits the wayward son (Taron Egerton) of his former partner into action. Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Hamill(!) and Michael Caine will also turn up the heat in this thriller.

Be afraid, very afraid, of Firth in the new trailer above. Kingsman: The Secret Service opens Feb. 13, 2015.
