'Beauty and the Beast' Live-Action Tease: Watch Emma Watson and Dan Stevens at the Cast Table Read

Disney’s 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast is in the middle of its 25th anniversary celebration. To mark the occasion, the Mouse House will be releasing a special-edition Blu-ray later this month. While that news alone is sure to bring a smile to the film’s many fans, even more exciting is that this latest home-video version will provide the most in-depth look yet at the studio’s upcoming live-action remake of the film. A new teaser for that featurette has now debuted with some quick glimpses of the highly anticipated movie.

In a 47-second promo for the Blu-ray (viewable above), we get some good looks at the exterior of the Beast’s snow-dappled castle, an early image of anthropomorphic clock Cogsworth (voiced by Ian McKellen) and candelabra Lumière (voiced by Ewan McGregor), as well as the grand ballroom where the monster (Dan Stevens) and his captive Belle (Emma Watson) will presumably share a romantic dance. More tantalizing still, the clip shows a cast table read where Stevens and Watson deliver some semi-flirtatious lines in-character, and we get our first hint of the Beast’s grumpy growl.

It’s an admittedly brief clip — and follows the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teaser from earlier this year. But it’s sure to further whet the appetite of Disney die-hards. Directed by Bill Condon and co-starring Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, and Emma Thompson, Beauty and the Beast hits theaters on March 17, 2017.

Meanwhile, its animated predecessor’s 25th anniversary edition premiers on Digital HD on Sept. 6, and on Blu-ray on Sept. 18.
