Chris Evans Reveals 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Captain America: Civil War' Shooting Schedules

Captain America is one busy superhero. Fresh on the heels of promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron, actor Chris Evans has revealed his shooting schedule for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. The third Cap film will shoot over the next several months, but the two-part Avengers epic will take the better part of a year.

“We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September,” Evans told Esquire.com. “Then I’ve got some downtime and I can do with it as I please…And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.“

Nine months is a very long time for actors to spend shooting a single film, but The Avengers: Infinity War is actually two movies: Part 1 will be released in May 2018, with Part 2 following a year later. (In comparison, the Age of Ultron filmed over a six-month period.) Both Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers: Infinity War will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who are taking over the Avengers franchise from original director Joss Whedon. As for Evans, he has only a few weeks of free time between Captain America gigs. “I don’t know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I’m creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life,” he tells Esquire.

For now, the actor is in Marvel mode. Yesterday, Evans announced on Twitter that he’d shaved off his press-tour beard in preparation for his patriotic superhero duties.
