China Box Office: ‘Captain America’ Takes Second Weekend Win
“Captain America: Civil War” earned a predictable second weekend win at the Chinese box office, albeit at a much slower pace than its opening. It topped the chart with a comfortable margin over U.S. crime drama “Criminal.”
“Civil War” earned $30.8 million, down 68% from its opening $95.1 million. After 10 days that put it on a cumulative of $155 million. “Criminal” stole $8 million in its opening three days.
Chinese romancer, “Book of Love,” which led the chart three weeks ago, took $5.64 million. After 17 days it has a cumulative of $111 million.
Chinese music drama “Song of The Phoenix” was opened wider in its second weekend and took $3.59 million for a 10 day cumulative of $4.15 million.
“The Jungle Book” completed its theatrical run on Saturday with a $1.41 million weekend and $150 million after four weeks.
