Channing Tatum on 'Magic Mike XXL': 'It's Going to Be an Insane Movie'

Channing Tatum is very happy to talk about his animated mustache in Friday's family comedy The Book of Life, but he’s keeping mum on certain other body parts that will soon be seen on the big screen.

"You gotta pay to see that, brother!" he teased when Yahoo Movies asked him last weekend about whether he is a participant or observer in the drag show where the cast of Magic Mike XXL was recently seen filming.

That said, Tatum, who also stars in the upcoming drama Foxcatcher, did give one hint about Magic Mike XXL: It's got some higher brow influences then you might expect, like a certain 1973 Hal Ashby movie.

"It’s a road trip movie, so it’s kind of like, all of the characters you meet along the way and what they learn from them," he said. "It’s strippers on The Last Detail, essentially. It’s going to be an insane movie, I can promise that.”

He also promised that the movie theater would be an amazing place to meet eligible women when Magic Mike XXL's release date rolls around next July.

"If that’s your speed, I always said that if you need a date, go to Magic Mike’s opening night and wear a fireman’s uniform, and you will leave with one number at least, I’m sure,” he joked.
