Chadwick Boseman to Play Thurgood Marshall in Thriller From Reginald Hudlin

“42” and “Get on Up” star Chadwick Boseman is set to star as legendary attorney Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall.”

“Django Unchained” producer Reginald Hudlin will direct.

The film focuses on a provocative case in the early career of one of America’s greatest legal minds. The film is financed by China-based Super Hero Films.

Paula Wagner is producing through her Chestnut Ridge Productions banner. Additional producers include Hudlin, Jonathan Sanger and Super Hero Films’ Jun Dong.

Renowned trial lawyer Michael Koskoff and his son, screenwriter Jacob Koskoff, penned the script.

“Thurgood Marshall was a man who took his life in his hands every time he came to a town to bring justice,” said Hudlin. “Marshall was a cowboy who used his law books as guns. He was the smartest guy in the room of any room he was in. But he wasn’t a punk and didn’t hesitate to throw a punch if the occasion called for it.”

Production begins this month in Los Angeles.

Boseman, who is repped by Greene & Associates Talent Agency and Management 360, was recently tapped to play Marvel’s Black Panther, who will first appear in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War.” He can also be seen in “Message From the King” and “Gods of Egypt,” both of which bow in 2016.
