Carrie Fisher Reenacts ‘Star Wars’ Dialogue with a British Darth Vader

Oh, what could have been — sort of.

Carrie Fisher stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show and reenacted famous dialogue from Star Wars. David Prowse, the actor who physically portrayed Darth Vader, had his voice dubbed over by James Earl Jones. Prowse’s British accent is described as “west country,” and has a distinct sound to it.

“Well, they always knew they were not going to use that voice,” Fisher said. “We called him Darth Farmer.”

Comedian Russell Howard also was a guest on the show, and coincidentally is from the same area of England as Prowse. This led to Ross having Russell and Fisher reenact dialogue from Star Wars: A New Hope. Russell donned Darth Vader helmet, and he and Fisher went back and forth as the iconic characters. Let’s just say this: Russell doesn’t exactly have the same command as James Earl Jones, even with a little help from voice modulation.
