Cameron Diaz and Benicio Del Toro are attached to star in Exclusive Media's Agent: Century 21.
Adam Hashemi, a well-known Danish commercial and music video director, will helm Century 21 in his feature debut from a script by Greg Brooker (Stuart Little).
Exclusive has come aboard to produce and finance the film. President of international sales and distribution Alex Walton will shop the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes; CAA is representing North American rights.
Century 21 tells the story of Mary Kay Curly (Diaz), a recent divorcee who cannot catch a break. Desperate to protect her real estate job and her kids, she agrees to take on an unpleasant task for her boss that gets her kidnapped and tossed into the center of a Mexican drug war.
Andrew Lazar of Mad Chance (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and David Greenblatt (Battle: Los Angeles) are producing the action-comedy with Shane Black, who is directing the upcoming Iron Man 3.
"Agent: Century 21 is an adrenaline-infused comedy that brings together two of the hottest stars in Hollywood," Exclusive co-chairman Guy East and Nigel Sinclair said. "It's a dream combination, and with our friend Andrew producing the film, it doesn't get much better than this."
Rick Yorn and CAA brokered the production and financing deal. CAA, Yorn and Marcy Morris represent Diaz.
