Cameron Diaz channels her inner Rollergirl in the first clip from her new R-rated comedy, Sex Tape. The film reunites Diaz with her Bad Teacher co-star Jason Segel, along with that film’s director, Jake Kasdan.
In Sex Tape, Diaz and Segel play Annie and Jay, a married couple whose love life has been weighed down by work and kids. When Annie tries to spice things up by slipping on some skates and turning on a video camera, the couple enjoy a night of hot n’ heavy wedded bliss — only to realize that their homemade recording has been uploaded to the web. Soon, the two are caught up in a chaotic search effort, as they attempt to track down every copy of the video, and delete their dirty secret.
It makes sense that Diaz would want to try to repeat the success of Bad Teacher. According to Yahoo Finance, the star took a pay cut (approximately $1 million up-front) in order to get that fairly low-budget comedy made. And when it eventually earned over $200 million worldwide, her share of the backend came out to $42 million.
Sex Tape unspools in theaters on July 18.
