Hoping to duplicate the success of indie thriller “The Call,” Brad Anderson has come on board to direct indie thriller “Restart” for Lotus Entertainment and Davids Canton Prods.
Project will be written by Gregory Poirier (“National Treasure: Book of Secrets”) and based on Matthew Klein’s novel “No Way Back,” published this spring by Corvus.
Story centers on an ordinary man who discovers that his entire life is being infiltrated and manipulated by a criminal network.
Danny Davids and Neil Canton are producing. Lotus’ Jim Seibel, Bill Johnson and D.J. Gugenheim are exec producing. WME Global is representing the domestic rights, while Lotus is handling international sales.
Anderson’s Halle Berry-starrer “The Call” was a surprise success at the box office that brought in $50 million in the U.S. on a budget of $11 million.
He is current shooting “Eliza Graves,” starring Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley.
Anderson is repped by WME, Cinetic Management and Sloss Eckhouse Law Co.
