Bron Studios And SouthPaw Entertainment Ink Two-Pic Deal

The pact calls for Bron Studios to produce and finance two movies on Santa Monica-based Southpaw‘s slate: Sports Chick, a comedy set against the backdrop of college and pro football co-written by Gil Fortis, Kristen Gore, Jason Reitman and Southpaw’s Richard B. Lewis; and The Architect, a Hitchcockian-style thriller penned by J. Craig Stiles about an ambitious architect who is offered the chance to design the building of his dreams in Rio de Janeiro but soon finds himself a pawn in an international conspiracy. Lewis and Bron managing director Aaron L Gilbert will co-produce the movies, and Southpaw’s head of production Gabrielle Jerou and Bron production exec Margot Hand will co-produce. CAA brokered the deal on behalf of Southpaw and will rep the films’ domestic distribution rights.

Bron, based in Vancouver, is in preproduction on the Kristin Wiig-starrer Welcome To Me with Gary Sanchez Prods. Among its recent pics is Rudderless, the feature directing debut of William H Macy. Southpaw (August Rush, House Of D) is working on Tom Vaughan’s How To Make Love Like An Englishman starring Pierce Brosnan, Kristen Scott Thomas and Jessica Alba.
