Brian Geraghty Joins Ellen Page-Kate Mara Romance ‘Mercy’

Brian Geraghty has joined Ellen Page and Kate Mara in the romance-drama “Mercy,” which began shooting this week in Cincinnati, Variety has learned exclusively.

Israeli filmmaker Tali Shalom Ezer is directing from a script by Joe Barton. Amy Seimetz and Elias Koteas have also been cast in key roles. Geraghty is replacing Pablo Schreiber.

Producers are Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa for Killer Films along with Page and Mara. Executive producers are Robert Halmi Jr. and Jim Reeve through their Great Point Media and Karri O’Reilly.

Page is portraying Lucy, the daughter of a man on death row falling in love with Mara’s Mercy character, a woman on the opposing side of her family’s political cause. As a result, Lucy’s value for truth is tested as her world begins to unravel.

Ezer made her feature debut with “Princess.” UTA and WME are jointly representing domestic rights.

Geraghty broke out opposite Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie in “The Hurt Locker” and starred in Denzel Washington-s “Flight.” He just finished a two-year run on “Chicago PD” and served as an executive producer on “Stanford Prison Experiment.”

Geraghty is repped by UTA, Management 360 and Loeb & Loeb.
