Brenton Thwaites, David Strathairn Starring in ‘An Interview with God’

Brenton Thwaites and David Straithairn are starring in the faith-based drama “An Interview with God,” which is wrapping shooting in the New York City area.

Perry Lang (“Weeds”) is directing from a screenplay by Ken Aguado. The cast also includes Yael Grobglas (“Jane The Virgin”), Hill Harper (“Concussion, CSI: NY”) and Charlbi Dean Kriek.

Aguado and Fred Bernstein are producing with Richard L. Jackson, founder of Giving Films, and Paul Kurta.

“An Interview with God” is set in New York City with Thwaites playing an up-and-coming journalist when he’s granted an interview with a man who claims to be God, portrayed by Strathairn.

“We wanted to make an accessible film that explored core aspects of faith and inspiration, but one that would also stand on its own as great entertainment,” Aguado said in a statement.

Bernstein added, “Through a provocative story, ‘An Interview with God’ poses a simple yet profound question to the audience: If you could interview God, what would you ask?”

Producers plan to release the film in 2017.

Thwaites was the lead in “Gods of Egypt” and will be seen next in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” Strathairn was most recently seen in “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and will be seen next in “American Pastoral” opposite Ewan McGregor.
